Offering courses in Vipassana Meditation as taught by Shri S.N. Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin

 CHILDREN AND TEENS

Dhammasarita wishes to be a part of growth of young minds. With this volition, Dhammasarita organizes Children and Teenager courses throughout the year.

One day Anapana courses for school children from 8 years onwards are arranged at respective schools upon request from school administration. Interested schools may contact the Center Management for the same by writing to dhamma.sarita@gmail.com

Teenagers between 15 to 19 years of age are welcome to participate in a 7 day residential Vipassana course. These courses are scheduled every year coinciding summer and winter vacations of schools. Separate courses are organized for girls and boys.

  COURSE IS FEE FREE

The Center runs solely on a donation basis and no charge or fees is payable by students. Students are provided free accommodation and food. All expenses are met by donations only from those who have already completed courses, experienced the benefits of Vipassana and wish to give others the same opportunity. Neither the teacher nor the assistant teachers receive remuneration; they and others who serve on the courses volunteer their time and efforts.

  WHAT TO BRING

The items that have been listed below cover all seasons. Please bring items appropriate for the season.
Rain-gear is always advisable.

BEDDING

One pillow with mattress per bed is available. It is advised to bring your own bedsheet, blanket and pillow cover.

CLOTHING

Bring enough clothing for the duration of your stay. All students should observe the rules for modest dress as outlined in the Code of Discipline. Shorts, tank tops, transparent, tight or revealing clothing, etc. are not permitted. Tights or leggings should be worn only under a knee length top or skirt/dress. T shirts with provocative messages are not allowed.

Warm clothing - sweater, pullover, shawl (Winter season - November to February)

TOILETRIES
Please bring daily requirements like:

Towel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Bathing soap
Shampoo
Shaving/Sanitary supplies
Hair Oil
Detergent Powder

OTHER USEFUL ITEMS

Small travel alarm clock
Torch (with extra batteries)
Drinking water bottle
Thermos flask for hot water
Umbrella during rain months (June - September) and desirable in summer (Mid March - Mid May)
Mosquitoe Repellant

MEDICINES

Please carry stock of medicines regularly used for the entire duration of the course along with the doctor''s prescription.

  ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES

On the day the course starts, ideal reporting time at the center is between 2.00 and 4.00pm.

Also please note:

  • Please note that stay at the center during a course is permitted only for course participants. Old students wishing to stay at the center to meditate or serve, before or after a course must contact the Center
    Management.

A light meal and orientation will follow after registration. If arrival is expected to be delayed past 5:00 PM on the day the course begins, please contact the Meditation Center on +91 7798324659. Post 5.00pm, wait-list students will be admitted in place of applicants who have not informed the center of their expected time of arrival.

The course will end at approximately 7:00 AM on the last day after breakfast and a short clean-up. All students taking a full course, are expected to remain until the very end of the course.
